Ernst &Young awarded Prof. Andrea Pfeifer the Entrepreneur of the Year® 2009 Switzerland in the category Life Sciences/High-Tech recognizing her personal qualities and the successful development of the thriving biopharmaceutical company. The intensive competition has been conducted annually in Switzerland since 1998 as part of Ernst & Young’s global program evaluating businessmen and women for their exceptional entrepreneurial achievements. The 2009 Swiss awards were given at a gala event held on the Novartis Campus in Basel.

The World Economic Forum has elected AC Immune as Technology Pioneer 2009 for its accomplishments as an innovation leader and for its breakthrough technologies that can have a deep impact on business and society. The award was given for the development of technological innovations with a potential for long-term impact on business and society as well as for its visionary leadership and its potential for developing into a long-standing market leader with proven technologies. AC Immune is honored to have been elected as Technology Pioneer 2009 and has consequently initiated the first global Alzheimer´s Disease Initiative.
